How do I order?

How far ahead do I need to order?
Please order at least 12 hours ahead. If it's urgent, please call.
Will someone confirm my order?
Yes. A real person calls or emails to confirm every order and the final total before delivery.
Prices & payment
How do I pay?
There is no payment on the website. Send a quote request, and LJ Kitchens will confirm your order and final total by phone or email. You then pay by e-Transfer or cash.
Is HST included?
No. All prices are plus HST (13%), shown in your estimated total. Delivery fee based on location.
Is the total on the form final?
It's an estimate. We confirm the final total with you, including the delivery fee for your location and any setup or wait staff you asked for.
Packages & platters
What packages do you offer?
Small serves 20 ($425 without lox / $525 with lox), Medium serves 25 ($525 / $650) and Large serves 30 ($625 / $775). All prices are plus HST (13%). See the full menu →
What is in each package?
Chopped Egg Salad, White Albacore Tuna Salad, Smoked Whitefish Salad, Cream Cheese, Red Sockeye Salmon, Assorted Bagels and Breads, Mini Muffins / Danishes, and Coffee, Juice, and Pop Service. The With Lox option adds Smoked Salmon (Lox).
What additional platters can I add?
Sandwich platters (30 / 45 / 60 pieces: $210 / $300 / $390), Wrap platters (30 / 60 pieces: $225 / $425), Crudité & Dip (serves 20 / 25 / 30: $80 / $100 / $120), Fresh Fruit (serves 20 / 25 / 30: $85 / $105 / $125) and Charcuterie (serves 20 / 30 / 40: $200 / $300 / $390). All prices are plus HST (13%).
Can I order platters without a package?
Yes. Platters can be ordered on their own, without a package, or added to one.
How much food do I need?
Packages are sized by group: 20, 25 or 30 people. For more guests, add additional platters or call us and we'll help you plan.
Delivery & setup
Where do you deliver?
We deliver across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), plus Aurora, Newmarket and Stouffville.
How much is delivery?
The delivery fee is based on location. We tell you the fee when we confirm your order.
Can I choose a delivery time?
Yes. Choose the date and time on the quote form and we confirm it with you. Please order at least 12 hours ahead.
Do we need to return the platters?
No. All food is presented on disposable platters, included in the package price. No platter returns or pick-up required.
Can you set up the food or provide staff?
Yes. Premium display setup on wooden boards, risers or upgraded serving pieces is available for an additional charge. Setup fees start at $150 and vary depending on guest count and setup requirements. Wait staff are available for an additional charge based on the number of guests, hours and service required.
Sending to a shiva house
Can I send food to a shiva house as a gift?
Yes. On the quote form, choose "Sending to a shiva house" and add the family's name, the address, the delivery date and time, and your gift note. Send a meal →
Can I add a personal note?
Yes. Add your note to your quote request and we include it with the delivery.
Who do you confirm with, me or the family?
With you. We use your phone and email to confirm the order and total, so the family doesn't have to deal with anything.
We're organising a meal train. How does it work?
Share our page in your group: ljkitchen.ca/send-a-shiva-meal. Each person can request their own date and add their own note. Keep a simple list of who has which date.
